TECHNICIAN/STAFF SCIENTIST/STAFF ENGINEER POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
Summary: Taza Aya, Inc., an Ann Arbor, Michigan based startup company, is seeking to fill one or more part-time or full-time openings for mechanical technician, electrical technician, staff engineer, or staff scientist in support of optimization and further development of the company’s plasma-based air disinfection technology. The optimized technology will advance the state of the art for preventing transmission of airborne infectious diseases, such as COVID-19, through ventilation systems, it will also serve as the core enabling technology for Taza Aya’s novel wearable consumer device for personal respiratory protection.
MECHANICAL / ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN POSITIONS
Qualifications and Responsibilities: Successful applicants to the mechanical or electrical technician positions are expected to have demonstrable experience with and be proficient at mechanical device design, fabrication and assembly, including leveraging local Ann Arbor machining and prototyping resources (e.g., makerspaces); electronic and power systems design and assembly; mechanical and electrical confirmatory and performance testing (e.g., leak testing, air flow rate measurement, differential pressure measurement, airborne contaminant measurement (gas and particle), electrical continuity, voltage and power measurement).
STAFF SCIENTIST / STAFF ENGINEER POSITIONS
Qualifications and Responsibilities: Successful applicants to the staff scientist or staff engineer positions are expected to have demonstrable experience in design and analysis of one or more of the following: fluid dynamics; ventilation or gas-handling systems; aerosols; sampling of air contaminants; high voltage power systems design and operation. Candidates are particularly encouraged to apply who have experience in miniaturizing mechanical or electrical systems, or design for manufacturing. The significant scientific expertise and resources of the University of Michigan are available nearby. An undergraduate or graduate degree is required in electrical/electronics engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related fields.
